Today we had another fantastic performance from the girls, from start to finish, and another dominating win. As we head in to our October break, it was Double Delight for the girls. Not only did they get their 2nd win of the season, but it was also their 2nd win in a row, and the magnificent Millie also bagged herself a double hat-trick.
The girls had a few nerves before kick off, as they thought our opponents looked quite big, but those nerves seemed to fade as soon as the game started. Our girls got stuck in from the start and looked to build on last week's victory. The opening 10 minutes were back and forth, with both side creating a few chances, but it was Cramond who were the more clinical and took the lead. We soon started to get more of a hold on the game and soon doubled our lead. Boroughmuir continued to create a few chances and a slight defensive error lead to an opportunity for our opponents and they managed to pull a goal back.
Cramond didn't let that get to them and soon got back to work, by keeping the ball, creating chances and working hard. This paid off as we then got a 3rd goal and saw out the rest of the half, going in to half-time 3-1 up.
The 2nd half started the same way the first ended, with Cramond keeping possession, passing the ball around well and creating chances. Boroughmuir did try to pile the pressure on more and made us work defensively, but with some great cover work, assured clearances and willingness to support each other, Cramond dealt with everything that was thrown at them. Being solid at the back allowed us to continue pushing forward, creating more chances and we soon took advantage of it by scoring another 3 goals.
There is a real buzz around the girls at the moment, and with the last few performances, the girls are starting to show some real confidence and belief in their abilities, and rightly so.
A special mention needs to go out to LolaEve for being brave enough to step up and go in goals for today's match. With not a lot of experience playing in that position, she held her own and was fantastic.
